Oliver McBride – Managing Editor
Oliver McBride is better known to most in the fishing industry as the Managing Editor of The Fishing Daily.
With over 10-years’ experience the world of journalism he has spent four of those years working as an editor. Oliver’s CV also includes four-years in Corporate Technology Management with Pramerica Systems (IRL) Ltd and he has experience in Marketing.
For the Marine and Seafood Industry, Oliver’s strengths lie in the fact that he has grown-up in the world of the fishing industry. His father and uncle were boatbuilders.
Living a stone’s throw from Downings Pier, in Co Donegal will always have a huge influence on him. From an early age he was in and out of boats with his uncles and cousins. As a deckhand he has worked salmon fishing, pot fishing, scallop-dredging, seine-netting, and trawling in his younger years.
His hobbies include cooking fish dishes and recreational fishing.
“I just love it all,” says Oliver. “Any free time in the summer I’m away fishing. I try to cook fish at home at least once a week and I’m always looking for new fish and fish dishes to cook.”
He has basically one objective in life, and that is to improve the industry and the environment but helping promote a positive reputation for
“I basically owe fishing everything. From I was a young lad growing up in a coastal community there was always fish in the house through neighbours and relations. I got my education, sometimes at school, but mainly through fishing. There was pain and tragedy at times in our area, quite often, but there were also good times too. I believe it’s good to give back. The fishing industry gave to me, and I went away and learned a lot of new skills. Now it’s time to use those skills to give back.”
Oliver says that working with Michael MacGinty on The Fishing Daily has been a fantastic experience.
“Michael’s knowledge of his business is incredible. Not alone that, he is always hungry to learn more so that he can improve the service he gives to his customers. I thought I knew a lot about websites before we started but over the past two-and-a-half years I have gained a whole new perspective on how it works, and I also understand why other people’s websites don’t work. This is a whole craft in itself. When you have the right people behind you, it becomes a lot easier.”
Michael MacGinty – Managing Director
Michael MacGinty, variously described as a synthesiser or guide, advises businesses on aspects of web, but also sales and marketing. He has been in sales since he was a kid, living above the family drapery shop on the Main Street in Letterkenny. Literally, he started off selling newspapers for John Crerand in Church Lane at age 8 in Letterkenny. Then he moved up to selling fruit and veg door to door for Jackie Quigg in Derry from a truck after school.
Fast forward to a career in Sales selling Giftware and then web based marketing services. Michaels job is to find out what you want to achieve, then determine which digital marketing tools to use to get you what you want to achieve.

Some typical questions & answers about Saltwater Marketing services

How long does it take to get on Page 1?
This is a very common question. The truth is that this varies depending on the competitiveness of your key terms or words for your industry, and also how well your competitors in the Killybegs or Peterhead, East of Scotland or West of Ireland region do their Search Engine Optimisation.
Nobody can honestly guarantee you a Page 1 ranking for Peterhead in the UK, or Castletownbere in Ireland.
However, a good SEO might give you an indication after the first month or two. It depends on how competitive your business is in search.
As any golfer in Gleneagles, Royal Birkdale, Portmarnock or Luttrellstown or Druids Glen would tell you, it is all about playing the course in front of you on any given day.
Can you guarantee Page 1 listing ?
No. Google does not allow for that. Otherwise everybody would be at it. However a good SEO specialist should have an idea if they can do it. This is still a wild guess, until the first few months have been done.
Can you offer a lower price ? I see other people asking for less.
You will see people offering to do SEO for less money. Some will even guarantee more traffic or higher ranking for some words. Or higher CTR click through rate. Usually these guys just want your money and it is a numbers game for them. They are forever selling and getting more short term clients. That is how they work. Check, in an Incognito window, for private browsing, if they even rank for the services they offer themselves. Look at their Google Reviews and see if businesses like yours recommend people like them.
What you invest is up to you. The more you invest the better the results in leads or sales. If you could invest £500 €500 and get back £1500 €1500 or invest £5000 €5000 and get back £15,000 €15,000 – which do you want? However the fact is that the first few months are a gamble, to find out if we can do what we say and deliver results. You decide where you want to start and commit to one SEO Ireland provider.
Can you guarantee more sales ? Will we definitely make more money ?
We may be able to generate more traffic, better traffic, more enquiries, however it is still down to you to make the sale. If we get 100 more people a month to your door, how many can you convert.
How many months are needed ? How long does this SEO take ?
SEO is never ending. And if you do get more traffic and more sales, why would you stop doing it?
Only after a few months will be be able to tell you how long it should take to rank for a key word or term.
Pick someone to work with and try them for 3 or 6 months. That is the extent of your investment or gamble with them. Maybe have a review meeting after every 3 months.
How many keywords are included ?
We get an idea of keywords from you and then we research your competitors and add them to the list. Then we can start with one or two or however many you want. But lets see what the list looks like after a month or two of grunt work by us. Only after a few months will be be able to tell you how long it should take to rank for a word or term. Some words or terms may take longer than others for your industry.
Do you offer the audit free ?
No. This is work for a day or two or half a day a month and we charge for it. Ignore the FREE online options that are generic, just to hook you. Pay for the Audit and then decide if you want to proceed with the SEO that’s it. Commit to 3 or 6 months and try it. If you get the wrong team, just move on to a new team.
